5) Off Track Or Sideways Door

In this industry we have to expect the unexpected and I would consider this to be the most unexpected repair in the business. We have reset 1000's of garage doors over the last 15 years and for that reason we have a flat rate of $179-$199, depending on the severity. Usually if the door is in the up position it will be harder and more time consuming. When the door is in the down position it is easier to access the torsion springs and therefore begin resetting the door. There are a lot of reason for to come off track but human error would have to be the most common culprit 1) Human Error: Someone closing the door onto their car or any other object that keeps one side up while the other moves freely. 2) Torsion springs have gotten some age and need to have tension added to keep the torsion cables tight while the door is in the up position. I always recommend adjusting the up limit to open a little less than before. (1"-1.5") 3) Standard cheap rollers are starting to slide thru the tracks instead of rolling like they were designed to do! I use only lifetime warranty rollers and install 7" long stem nylon coated ball bearing rollers in all top sections to better protect your car, truck or boat from off track mgarage doors! We also add a flag bracket to each side after all initial sideways or off track doors. 4) Limit switches go out a lot but this would have to be the least of the 4 reasons you may need a professional garage door technician. We don't recommend anyone that is not highly trained do not attempt this repair. These are very dangerous situations and should be handled with great knowledge and care!
